04 August 2024 Meeting of the Supreme Committee to implement the Charter of Ethics for the Nursing Profession

prof. Mohamed Mustafa Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, met with the Supreme Committee for Implementing the Charter of Ethics for the Nursing Profession to discuss the Charter of Ethics for the Nursing and Midwifery professions prepared by the General Syndicate of Nursing, and to develop a proposal for standards for applying ethical charters for the nursing profession to ensure safe health practices. This is done by urging all nursing leaders in Egypt (educational and service) to conduct an awareness campaign to publish the Charter of Ethics for the Nursing Profession, hold seminars within health institutions, place the Charter on the private websites of the official pages of each institution, document this publication with pictures and videos, and follow up and monitor the activation of the publication of the Charter to ensure Clarifying some professional points for nursing sector workers on how to confront some professional problems, as well as developing a policy for how to deal with receiving and resolving complaints.

The committee is composed of: 
Prof. Kawthar Mahmoud Mahmoud - Head of the Nursing Syndicate, Member of the Senate, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Health Council. 
Prof. Enas Muhammad Ibrahim Hassan - Dean of the Faculty of Nursing - Faculty of Nursing, Damanhour University.
Prof. Amal Ahmed Khalil Morsi - Professor at the Faculty of Nursing - Port Said University.
Dr. Omaima Sobhi Al-Awadi Hassanein - Professor at the College of Nursing - Director of the Nursing Administration, Directorate of Health Affairs in Dakahlia.  
Dr. Wafa Rabie Ali Al-Shazly - Director of Nursing, Directorate of Health Affairs in Menoufia.
Dr. Fatima Mahmoud Hasib Marzouq - Senior Nursing Specialist with the rank of General Manager - Bab Al-Sharia University Hospital.
Dr. Nadia Salah Mohamed Morsi - Director of Nursing at Nasr City Health Insurance Hospital. 
Dr. Samah Mahmoud Hussein Mohamed - Senior Specialist with the rank of Director General, Secondary Director of the Therapeutic Institution in Cairo.

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, and prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
