13 December 2023 Meeting of the Supreme Committee for Continuing Professional Development of Human Medicine on Wednesday, December 13

Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Lotayef Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, met with the Supreme Committee for Continuing Professional Development of Human Medicine, in the presence of Prof. Hossam Hosny, Secretary General of the Egyptian Health Council, and Dr. Ehab Ahmed Kamal, Coordinator of the Supreme Committees for Qualification Testing to Practice Health Professions and Continuing Professional Development to discuss and approve the programs. Scientific, professional, and specialized health training for the post-university stage, and the approval of professional certificates for those who pass these programs in the various branches of medical health work from the relevant training bodies accredited by the Council.
The committee is composed of:
• Prof. Fathi Rizk Farouk Abdel Aziz Khudair - Emeritus Professor of Plastic Surgery, Cairo University and former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.
• Prof. Mohamed Reda Al-Saeed Bassiouni - Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics, Mansoura University.
• Prof. Ashraf Hussein Ahmed Shehata Al-Ghandour - Vice President of Alexandria University for Graduate Studies and Research.
• Prof. Mohamed Tariq Hassan Zaki Anis - Full Professor - Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University.
• Prof. Yasser Helmy Ismail Ali - Professor of Plastic Surgery and Director of the International Excellence Office at Al-Azhar University.
• Prof. Assem Fouad Muhammad Al-Essawi - Vice President of Fayoum University for community service.
• Prof. Dr. Sherif Mohamed Kamel Shehata - Professor of Pediatric Surgery and Head of General Surgery Departments, Tanta University.
• MG. Hani Hafez Lotfi Mamoun Hafez - Director of Education and Scientific Research at the Military Medical Academy.
• Dr. Ghada Mohamed El-Sayed Mishal - Fellow of Kidney Diseases at the Kidney and Urology Institute at Damanhour National Institute.
• MG. Nabil Fekry Mohamed Fawzi - Undersecretary of the Police Medical Services Sector for Education Affairs and Head of the Scientific Committee of the Ministry of Interior.

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, and prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
