H. E. Minister of Labor Mohamed Gibran met with prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, and Dr. Ahmed El Gohary, advisor to the minister of Health for training, to agree on the profession of a health services assistant and set the requirements and standards for training in terms of: curriculum, tests and qualification mechanisms, given the importance of this profession and its close link to the health of Health facilities

The meeting reviewed the initial features of the development of the training path for this vital profession, where the minister of Labor stressed the importance of preparing trained cadres according to accurate professional standards that contribute to enhancing the quality of health services, stressing that the ministry is working in coordination with the concerned authorities to adjust the training and accreditation system, to ensure the provision of qualified and capable labor to support the health sector effectively. It was agreed to hold another meeting two weeks later to present the full curriculum for the profession of a health services assistant, the profession standard and the system of tests that trainees will undergo, in preparation for its adoption and the start of training programs. Preparations are also underway to conclude a four-way cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Health, the Egyptian Health Council and the nursing union, with the aim of upgrading the profession to a high professional level and safer in dealing with the health of citizens, and ensuring the unification of efforts between the competent authorities to establish an integrated training and accreditation system.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ihab Kamal, the general coordinator of the Health Council and supervisor of the continuous professional development system, and the advisor Mohamed menisi, the legal advisor of the Health Council and vice president of the State Council, along with representatives of the General Syndicate of Nursing and continuous professional development of the Egyptian Health Council, in order to agree on the profession of a Rehabilitation, due to the importance of this profession and its close connection with the health of the citizen and the need to upgrade the level of services provided within health facilities.

The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Labor, Mohamed El Gendy, Director General of the General Directorate of licensing and accreditation of private centers, and the delegation of 'Health' and the Health Council included Dr. Reem Hisham, member of the accreditation Chamber of the Egyptian Health Council, Mrs. Wafa Rabie El Shazly, Director General of the nursing department in Menoufia and the captain of Menoufia nursing

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, and prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
