"According to Law No. 12 of 2022 regarding the establishment of the Egyptian Health Council and its executive regulations issued in October 2023, the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Health Council has formed a specialized committee to develop the qualification exam for practicing dentistry. This committee is tasked with setting the standards, procedures, and rules for the exams conducted by the Council, in coordination with the authorities responsible for issuing licenses. The formed committee is also authorized to consult experts for developing the scientific content and criteria of the exam, as well as to establish a question bank and practice tests."

The objective of the qualification exam for practicing the profession of dentistry is to ensure that graduates of dental faculties in Egypt are genuinely qualified to begin practicing dentistry. It also aims to confirm that they have received appropriate training during their internship year prior to being granted a license to practice in Egypt and to verify that graduates meet the minimum standards required for professional dental practice.

• The applicant must have obtained a bachelor's degree from one of the Egyptian governmental, private, or national universities, or from international university branches in Egypt that are accredited by the Supreme Council of Universities or hold an equivalent degree from a foreign university, provided it is officially recognized by the Supreme Council of Universities.
• The applicant must have successfully completed at least six (6) months of mandatory training.
• The applicant’s data must be submitted by the college coordinator or the mandatory training unit at the college. All submitted information must be officially approved by the Dean of the college and sent to the Egyptian Health Council before the registration deadline for each examination round.

• Registration must be completed separately for each exam round (each round is considered independent), and previous registrations will not be valid if the applicant did not take or pass the exam.
• The applicant’s data is submitted once by the college, and must be reviewed by both the applicant and the Mandatory Training Unit at the college before being sent to the Egyptian Health Council.
• If any of the required information is submitted incorrectly or inaccurately, the data will have to be re-submitted in the following exam round, and will be excluded from the current round.

The submitted data must include the following:

• Full name in Arabic as it appears on the National ID card.
• Full name in English.
• National ID number (14 digits) or passport number for international applicants.
• Name of the university.
• Total score.
• Email address (preferably personal, not university-issued).
• Mobile phone number.
• Payment code.
• Status code.
• Internship start date.
• Nationality.

The exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and must be completed within a maximum of two and a half hours. The exam is designed in the following formats:

• Mock Exam: A practice test available to familiarize applicants with the question style and the online platform. It is accessible throughout the day, allowing applicants to attempt it at any time, and more than once for the same exam.
• Simulation Exam: A timed test that mimics the real exam environment. It allows applicants to experience the actual test conditions, including time constraints, exam rules, and proctoring systems.
• Real Exam: The official exam on which the applicant’s performance is evaluated to determine whether they pass or fail to obtain a medical practice license. Each exam round includes three real exam attempts, and the applicant can pass by successfully completing any one of them. However, only the result of the last attempt is counted, so if the applicant passes on the first try, it’s advised not to retake it. The outcome is evaluated on a pass/fail basis, with no numerical score

• You must access the exam using a laptop or desktop computer equipped with a camera (USB camera).
• Ensure that the camera is functional, in good condition, and remains active throughout the entire exam.
• Upload a suitable personal photo with a white background before taking any exam to avoid disqualification or suspension of your profile.
• Sit alone in an appropriate outfit and posture, in a quiet space away from others, for the duration of the exam to prevent disqualification.
• It is recommended to log in to the exam website at least 20 minutes before the scheduled time.
• Strictly prohibited: opening browsers, accessing websites, using any other devices, or wearing external headphones during the exam. Any violation will result in the cancellation of the exam.
