31 August 2025 Meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Egyptian board of Veterinary Medicine
Within the framework of the keenness of the Egyptian Health Council, headed by prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, to develop medical and veterinary education and professional training, and raise the efficiency of cadres working in various specialties, and in accordance with the directives of His Excellency to form the higher scientific committees of the Egyptian board, the fourth meeting of the scientific committee was held last Sunday, August 31, 2025, at the headquarters of the National Higher Egyptian board in the field of Veterinary Medicine. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Abdul Raziq Yousef Abdul Aziz Desouki, former president of Kafr el Sheikh University, and in the presence of the rapporteur of the committee, Prof. Abdul Rahman Mahmoud Abdul Rahman Al-bajouri, former vice president of Menoufia University, along with a group of professors and experts in the field of Veterinary Medicine.
The members of the committee were received by Major General Dr. Islam Rayan, chairman of the board of Directors of the National Fisheries and aquaculture company at the National Service Projects Authority of the Armed Forces, who welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of cooperation between various national and academic institutions in order to support and develop the veterinary sector in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Supreme Committee of the Egyptian board of Veterinary Medicine: Dr. Amani Abdul Rahman Abbas-dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Benha University, Dr. Iman Khalifa Siddiq Khalifa Mohammed-professor and acting dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Matrouh University, Dr. Sana Mokhtar Mohamed Al-Nahla-former vice dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for graduate studies – Suez Canal University, Dr. Hosni Awad Hassan al-Banna, full – time Professor, Department of pharmaceuticals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, Dr. Fikri Mohamed Hussein Sayed – full-time professor, former dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine-Alexandria University, and Secretary of the veterinary studies Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of universities, Dr. El-Said El-Sherbini El-Said Ahmed-Full Professor Biochemistry-Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Mansoura University, Dr. Shawki Suleiman Ibrahim Suleiman-full professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – Beni Suef University, Colonel doctor/ Mohamed Sobhi Mohamed Saber – doctor of philosophy in Veterinary Medical Sciences (medicines) – Veterinary Services Department – armed forces.
He also attended the meeting about the Egyptian Health Council:
- pharmacist / Heba Youssef- Coordinator of the Higher Committee for Veterinary Medicine at the Egyptian Health Council
- Mr. Amr Mohamed Abdel Gawad-member of the Executive Secretariat Department and the secretariat of the committees.
During the meeting, the committee's rapporteur reviewed a number of key axes, most notably:
- Presentation of the initial frame of reference for the veterinary medicine certificate, discussion of accreditation of basic specialties: ruminant and camel medicine and surgery, poultry medicine, pet medicine, health and safety of food of animal origin, fish medicine and aquaculture
- Agreement on the speedy completion of the final frame of reference for the board certificate in the field of Veterinary Medicine and confirmation of the formation of the Scientific Council for each specialty and the development of accreditation standards following the adoption of basic specialties.
This meeting comes as a continuation of the efforts of the Egyptian Health Council in setting advanced academic and scientific standards to ensure the improvement of the level of education and training in the veterinary field, which contributes to raising the efficiency of cadres and the development of Veterinary Services in Egypt.
