15 April 2024 Meeting of the Supreme Committee for Guidelines for Pediatric Oncology

Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Lotayef Executive president, Egyptian Health Council, met with the Supreme Committee for Guidelines for the Specialization of Childhood Cancer Treatment to discuss the work plan and draw a road map for developing guidelines for diagnosing and treating childhood cancer. Prof. Alaa Mohamed Ali Haddad was chosen as Chairman of the Committee.
The committee is composed of:
• Prof. Alaa Muhammad Ali Al-Haddad - Emeritus Professor in the Department of Pediatric Oncology - National Oncology Institute - Cairo University.
• Prof. Imad Nabil Ishaq Obaid - Deputy Director, National Cancer Institute and Professor of Pediatric Oncology - National Cancer Institute - Cairo University.
• Prof. Eman Abdel Mokhles Sidhom Saadallah - Professor and Head, Department of Pediatric Oncology - National Oncology Institute - Cairo University.
• Prof. Mahmoud Hammad Mahmoud Hammad - Assistant Professor of Pediatric Oncology - National Oncology Institute - Cairo University - and Director of the Oncology Center at Nasser Institute Hospital.
• Prof. Youssef Madani Saeed Madani - Assistant Professor of Pediatric Oncology - National Oncology Institute - Cairo University - and Consultant in Pediatric Diseases and Marrow Transplantation at Dar Al Salam Oncology Hospital.
• Prof. Shadi Hassan Mohamed Mohamed Fadel - Assistant Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University - Director and Head, Pediatric Oncology Department, Borg El Arab Hospital.
• Dr. Ahmed Mustafa Ahmed Abdel Salam Al-Qan - Lecturer of Pediatric Oncology - National Oncology Institute - Cairo University - and Assistant Head, Secretariat of Specialized Medical Centers for Oncology Affairs
• Dr. Mahmoud Moataz Mohamed Ibrahim - Lecturer, South Egypt Oncology Institute, Assiut University, Medical Director and Head of the Pediatric Oncology Department at Shifaa Oncology.
• Dr. Amal Ahmed Zein Youssef - Pediatric Treatment Consultant, Al-Sahel Teaching Hospital.
• Dr. Zaki Ahmed Zaki Ahmed - Consultant and Director, Hematology Unit at Sheikh Zayed Specialized Hospital.

The Board of Trustees of the Egyptian Health Council held an expanded meeting on 28, April, 2026, in honor of His Excellency Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, Prof. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Ahmed Kojak, Minister of Finance, and Prof. Hani Otaiba, President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in England. Also present were Sir. Magdy Yacoub, the international heart surgeon, and Prof. Hisham Ali Sadiq, Professor of Heart, Biophysics and Molecular Biology. At the University of Arizona in America, via video, in France, Major General Saeed Al-Najjar, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Medical Services Sector, and Major General Dr. Nabil Fekry, Undersecretary of the Medical Services Sector at the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mr. Hassan Raddad, Minister of Labor, and prof. Mohamed Lotayef, The Executive president of the Egyptian Health Council, witnessed the signing of a tripartite cooperation protocol aimed at enhancing institutional integration and achieving the maximum benefit from the available capabilities in providing health services and developing the vocational training system in Egypt in order to enhance health care and develop vocational training.
